figure eight puffer?

ok so i've been getting a lot of mixed info, some sites say that figure eights are fine in brackish and others say that they should be kept in light brackish. i assume that they would probably prefer brackish but i just want to know whether or not i would be stressing the fish to put one in a freshwater aquarium.

Yes it would. this is a brackish fish and needs brackish water.
Freshwater will slowly kill it.

ok thanks. it amazes me to see that my lfs (petco) not only mislabels the figure-eights as leopards, but also keeps them in freshwater.
