So my backup LFS (not my favorite) told a friend of mine that it was okay to put a figure 8 puffer in a 5 gallon eclipse if he were the only fish in there. What do you all think It is a bowfront corner tank, to be taken to the office soon.
that is what I thought too..........thanks. I hate it when they give stupid advice.Pufferpack said:No, a 5 gal is too small for a Figure 8. you could get away with a 10 gal with frequent water changes, but it is usually recomended 20 gal min.
Is there another that you would recommend for a 5 gallon???Pufferpack said:No, a 5 gal is too small for a Figure 8. you could get away with a 10 gal with frequent water changes, but it is usually recomended 20 gal min.

Awesome! We already have some live plants in there from my tank, so all we need to do is exchange the figure 8 (or I could put it in my catfish tank! ) and get her a couple of dwarfs...........still don't know why they told her that .Lithril said:You could fit 2 dwarfs in a 5 gal with good filtration at least 3 caves and plenty of plant cover (preferably live plants). 1 Dwarf is recommended but if you kept the water in good condition and had plenty of cover you could put 2 in there.
