i got two dwarf gouramis. one is a flame, and one a neon blue. they have been doing great for almost a week and now they are fighting. those are the only fish i have in the tank besides a snail. should i delay getting new fish? or possibly would that stop the fighting of the two gouramis? any help would make me feel lots better. thanx alot

oh yeah, where can i find out how to take care of aquirium plants?

Try having a look at the planted section of the forum , thats where I found out a lot of what I know (very little :p ). Anything in particular??

If possible, you've really got to take one of them back. Gouramis are very closey related to bettas, and almost everyone knows that there ain't no way you can have two male bettas together! It's usually the same with dwarf gourami males too, they are very territorial and will fight. I ran into this myself - made the same mistake as you. Actually ended up having to get another tank to seperate the two. You really don't have a choice IMO, you have to do something. Adding a new fish won't help. They'll still fight whenever they encounter each other, and it may be ok.... but eventually someone is gonna get hurt (which leads to illness, even death). Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. -_-

thanx, but i have hear that Gouramis are peaceful, which i think is bull crap, cuz then again i read two males will fight, a male and female will fight, and two females do fight too. was gouramis just not where i should had started?? what can i put in with my gouramis. before i moved and gave away my fish tank i have 6 gouramis in a tank and they didnt fight

I also experienced Gouramis fighting. In my case, I had bought 2 pairs, but both females died in unknown circumstances, and since that time the males fought each other, until one gained the upper hand and became the dominant male in the tank. In the end I resolved the issue by trading the fish in to my local fish shop. Id probably suggest swapping one of the males for a female, but on occasions they can be attacked as newcomers...You win some, you lose some

As an aside, I also have 6 Red Robin Gouramis, and they hardly fight...Unless it's feeding time of course :D
