Fighter Bettas

Anyone know any US breeders of fighting bettas? I love the body shape and faces of the fighting PKs and want one to have and maybe breed if I can calm him down. And if they're bred for fighting, you know they have to be tough, and I'd like to have that toughness in my lines (better pets/breeders that way maybe).

i have a feeling you would be hard pressed to fine such a breeder here in teh states. im sorry i cant offer you and information but perhaps u can send bk a pm and see what he knows, i know he just typed up quite an article on that stuff.

I don't know of any US breeders, but FighterBetta.com ships to the US and Aquabid has fighters show up on occasion

well, i haven't seen which sellers with websites are still up and running, i have a feeling the demand just wasn't there for many of the sellers jumping on the bandwagon. yahoo has a group dedicated to the fighting arena though, i'm sure you can come across it if you are creative in your searching. i know all the sellers always post updates to their stock etc. there. if i was going to buy a fighter to breed i would source it from thailand. US breeders have not yet convincingly bred 5 star fighters, it has a lot to do with the environmental conditions in thailand vs states, and everything from quality of water to amount of sun, heat, training methods etc.
