hi all i am bolky and i have recently visited a place near to me called swallow aquatics and was amazed by the marine fish there

i have been keeping tropical fish for about 8 years now and i am intrested in what sort of pricing i would be lookin at to get me started on 1

now i have heard that it is expensive

i am luki i guess as i live with my parents and anything i earn in cah i keep so i am ok

now if any 1 could do like a i dunno a sort of shopping list thingy
for me i would really appreciate
like:

tank size recommended
heating equipment
filtering equipment
lighting equipment

everything really to get me started

also i would be probably be lookin at getting it piece by piece every week or 2

so any help would be really helpful

oo and i am from the uk so any good shop links would be super

thanx alot

bolky

While I am still very new to saltwater as well, I've been hanging around these forums long enough to know what kind of questions the older members are going to ask you. While you wait for a more experienced person to post, I believe you should post what type of fish/inverts you want to keep because tank/equipment vary widely based on that. I don't know much about prices in the UK, cuz i'm from cali so im not gonna be much use for you in that department.... But My new 25 gallon tank is gotten to be extremely pricey... Search around the forums for a bit and you will find the answers you are looking for. I recommend this forum as well as the SW equipment forum, I believe there are a few posts on new aquarium equipment there. Good luck!

well i was thinkin along the lines of clown fish or damsels

i have heard there ment to be a good starting point for beginners like me

oooo and i have recently purchased a 4ft long tank i think its 2 ft tall 1 ft deep

hope this helps some way!

DAMSELS ARE MEAN AND WILL KILL CLOWNFISH. THE ONLY DAMSEL WORTH GETTING IS GREEN CROMIS AND THEY LIKE TIO BE IN GROUPS OF 3 +. THE 4 FOOT TANK WOULD BE GREAT FOR A MARINE TANK. IS IT 48"X24"X12" (LXHXW).

WHAT TYPE OF TANK DO YOU WANT
1 FO
2 FOWLR
3 REEF?

and tried very hard to c the difference but i cant c it

may be i have been workin to hard i dunno but could some please let me know

and then i can give you a answer to wat sort of tank i will be lookin in to more greater detail

FOWLR and REEF are different i believe bcuz reef have corals and many types of inverts and require special lighting, FOWLR are just fish and liverock...?
