Few Questions About A Sump.

hey guys,

today i picked up my 180G tank which has gone in place of a 3ft tank which is now spare.


ive been trying to think of a good use for the tank and a sump filter comes to mind.


am i rite in thinkin this for starters?


is it possible to make a filter out of this tank?


and is there any how to links on how to make a sump?

oh and lastly, how bigger tank would a approx 30 gallon sump be good for?

Yes you can use your spare tank as a sump

Try This site there are a couple of designs there.

I have designed a different overflow device if you don't have a drilled tank and are into DIY.

Also try asking in the marine section as those guys know heaps more than me about sumps.
