My little sister just bought a small baby female betta for my 30 gal. she is only about less than an inch in length. I recently examined her very closely and she only has ONE side fin! :hyper: Is this okay or should I be worried? She gets around fine and usually swims in the neon tetra shoal. She is very peaceful and gets along with all of the fish. I am not sure if she could have been born that way or some other fish just ripped it off? It doesn't look like there is a fin that was nipped at or anything. There is just one small white speckle where her fin should be, where it should be attached. What should I do?

I've saw a female not use one of her pectoral fins. At first I thought she was missing a fin because it was transparent and blended in w/ her body. If that's the case it might have been from the net bending it the wrong way or something and she should start to use it eventually.
Hopefuly she hasn't lost it, if so she will learn to live with out it.
Good Luck

Well her pectoral fin is more of a red/pink color than clear so it is really easy to spot. There is a white opening where her pectoral fin should attach but no fin. :dunno: She is great though. She protects the baby mollys from outside the breeding net. :D She's more of a mom than the real one. All my mommy molly does is peck for food.
