The stress of having fry can leave her more able to get a fungus or bacterial infection. Do you have her issolated from other tankmates or on her own for treatment. What treatment are you using? Keep her place clean and do a full treatment - Best of luck.

the treatment i'm using is called protozin. it treats whitespot, fungus, neon tetra desease, velvet and costiasis. i'm treating both of my tanks with it incase its been passed on to any of my other fish. can i use this with fry? i had 41 new fry today off her and i dont know if i can use it.

-_- I don't think you can use medication with fry because it might end up killing them. I attempted to treat a couple of my fry in a hospitial tank that had a disease, but they sadly didn'y survive.

 Your swordtail reminds me of my female molly that delivered her fry and she looked extremly thin and weak. I figured out that the probelm was actually an internal parasite. Is she acting sluggish and weak? Is she eating normally? From the look of the picture, she looks very thin and I'm guessing that apart from the stress of having her fry that there might be a chance that she may also have an internal pararsite. Good luck with the fry!

Hi,
I had the same problem with one of my female guppies, you can put the treatment in the tank but only use half as much as the directions say.
I did this 3 weeks ago and the babies are fine although some of the smallest died (which is normal). Unfortunately the fungi got the better of the mother and she died.
Goodluck
