Female Question

Hi

Yesterday i discovered that one of my females had died in my tank over the weekend, so i did a 70% water change and cleaned everything, this morning i noticed my 2 darker females are displaying their horizontal bars and looking very full - is it possible for them to become egg bound and die? what can i do to help them. My two white ones are looking ok.

I dont know what caused my other blue female to die, when i found her she was partially eaten by my corys.

Any advice would be grateful.

Hi there have been alot of betta deaths this winter (for un known reasons) she could of become to this

No i dnt think its possible most animals will re-adsorbed their eggs so not to harm tgeir self but its always a possibility your other will proberly be fine but hard to tell if we cant see them

Have u got a photo

Also what r ur water stats?

I did a large water change so my tank readings are back down to Am lower end of 0 Ni lower end of 0 and Na 0-5.

Well they look ok tbh yeh they r plump but i dont think they are in any danger tbh they look healthy and well cared for

I lost my male the other week no signs only dropsy and that was with in a day i have a thread going atm on betta illness and we have all pritty much guessed its the weather this time of year the air pressure changes etc so id keep an eye out any signs of illness quarinteen the ill fish and diagnose and treat

Thanks for the reply - its good to know that they are ok - i thought the might be a bit fat - my others are generally the last to arrive at the food, these 2 esp the lil white and red one is always first up - she is my most curious and likes to interact with the cats lol

mine used to be an escourt to my arm when cleaning etc or just putting my hand in lol they used to either ( depending on how they where feeling) sitin my hand or as i said escourt me around their tank by swimming right next to my arm lol

Lol she does that to, always investigating my arm or hose when cleaning, she attempted to eat me the other day lol

I am suprise she became the boss of the tank as the blue one in my photo and my other blue one were constantly squaring up - i think my white one just snuck in to the top of the hierarchy while they werent looking!

lol it is funny when the try to eat u it is surpriseingly uuummm nippy lol

made me jump the first time they did it to me

mine never had a hierarchy mine never met lol same tank free swimming just never went near each other lol

i ended up with a few tail nips but nothing major! its funny you think you shouldnt feel anthing because they are so small lol
