this morning before going to work I noticed that my female betta had a white spot right above her lip, I didn't have time to do anything and when I got home from work, it had spread around her mouth and now kinda looks like she's got a goatee. any idea what this is? I had her in a 2g that wasn't heated (didn't have a heater small enough) and I just finished moving my molly fry to a 10G, so I put her in the 5G they were in. so now she's in a nice heated tank, what else can i do to help?

ok, looks like it's true fungus or body fungus. any ideas as to what's best to treat it? i think i saw methylblue or something like that was supposed to work for that

Like tstenbeck said, any of the fungal remidies will work. I noticed fungus on my gourami, got some fungus meds, and it cleared up pretty fast!
Hope your betta gets better soon!

i'm probably going to wait a while. i want to clean that tank out really well, make it safe for the next tenant. if she had fungus i'm guessing that i probably should start over to make sure there's not too much junk in the water and such. plus i want to change the substrate and go with sand.
