I have a group of 5 female bettas, ive only had them for about 4 days. They have been setting up a new pecking order and fighting a bit, but i didnt think it was as serious as this.
I went to take a look at their tank and couldnt find one of the bettas, i was looking for about 10 minutes when i finally found her hiding in the corner in the bottom, i thought she was dead so i went and got the net to take her out, then she jumped up and moved away, i realised then that she had NO tail or any fins, just the top and hardly any side fins. She also has injuries and bite marks ALL over her body,
I have moved her out into a small 6litre vase (all i have!)
What can i do? If i put her back in she will be killed, and i dont have the space to buy a new tank just for her.

You could offer her up for rehoming, maybe someone on the board is in your area and could take her.

Yes i might do that. Its such a shame because she was beautiful! Lovely bright purple. I hope if her fins ever do grow back that they will still have the colour

My suggestion would be to find something for her to stay in that is better suited than the emergency vase.  You can easily get by with a rubbermaid/steralite container of at least a gallon (although I would go a bit bigger so you can heat it safely).  I have kept fish for months in accomondations like these before and they work really well. I definitely would not risk putting her back in the tank with the other girls as they will kill her if you do.  If her injuries are too severe, it might be best for her if you euthanize her.
