My pleco's tail and fins have started to look a little ragged over the last 24 hours so I watched my tank for several hours last night and caught my female betta staring at him and nipping at him occasionally. I have also caught her bullying other fish from time to time. The pleco now seems a little lethargic and I think he may not be eating well because the tank wall gained some algae since yesterday. I have been putting algae wafers in for the pleco but the betta and the red wag platy usually dominate the wafer and pull it away from the pleco. Have I made a mistake by putting a pleco in with a female betta? The LFS said they could both go in a community tank. Is there another algae eating fish I could put in a community tank that the betta would ignore? She seems fascinated with the pleco! I think I will have to isolate him tonight when I get home from work...Any opinions would be appreciated!

(the pleco is about 1/2 inch bigger than the female betta)

Maybe she is, my female betta bullied my Mogurnda mogurnda gudgeon (search it if you don't know  ) Then again my female is crazy, she would tear apart any other female I put in there, so maybe yours is a little angry. How big is this tank???

It is a 20 gallon tank. I have another female betta, 2 golden cloud minnows, and 2 painted glass fish in there as well and she gets along with the other fish just fine.

(BTW, I didn't realize that the glass fish were injected when I got them and was suprised tp learn about the industry from this forum. I won't be supporting that industry anymore but love my glass fish and am trying to give them a happy future)

When I first got the Bettas my friend named one after her and one after me. It's funny that the bully Betta is my namesake!!!
