i know this might seem like a silly question but i was reading someones post about an lfs that thought their short finned males were females.
So i was just wondering how can you tell them apart?

A female will always have ovesporie tubes, look for them under her belly its a little white tube.Keep in mind that a female can be very agressive also so that there would be fighting in that tank,In short no ovisporie= male an ovisporie = female

The ovipositor will look like a white dot between the ventral fins. If there is one the betta is a female. I purchased a betta not to long ago that was sold to me as a female but was indeed a male. Hope that helps. :D
