One of my female cambodian is acting strange as if she has SBD (swim bladder disease). At night she stays almost horizontal on the surface. During the daytime she swims fine and is healthy. Only at night she starts acting weird...also, her gills become pale when she stays like that. I'm worried :(

Nope. At first i thought she was sleeping. Her pectoral fins wasn't moving and whatnot. She maybe sleeping...but it is really odd cuz she sometimes swim horizontal. I guess you got a point there, she might be sleeping.

Hmmm.... are you mixing up horizontal and vertical? I'd be more worried if my fish was vertical, head pointing up and fins pointing down. Most fish are pretty much usually horizontal, no?

Staying near the surface, not moving, and getting pale sounds about normal for a sleeping fish. Almost all of my bettas sleep like that, except for Dickey since his fins are huge; he has to sleep in the plants.

If you're talking vertical, I'd not be too worried if it is only an occasional thing. Sometimes Tim will swim around like that for no good reason. Do you have a picture of the behavior so we could get a better idea of what is going on?

I agree sounds like sleeping, if I turn on the lights in my fish roomeven an hour earlier then usual everyone is pale and hanging out at the very top or very bottom. I wouldn't worry if she's not doing it during the day

Is horizontal = ----- right? And vertical is l. She was in the horizontal state. At night before she becomes horizontal she 'shivers' a bit. During the daytime she is fine, eating, flaring, swimming.
