Planaria or something? I've never ran into this before I dont really know what it is. Can you guys identify this? This is the biggest one and it's still hard to see in the pic. There are tons of very small ones on the glass. I just noticed this today.

If you know what they are, are they harmful? And whether they are harmful or not any recommendations on how to kill them? I really hate the sight of these things and it bugs me a lot. The method of removal would need to be shrimp safe.

The tank is a cherry shrimp only tank that I feed mostly flake food. Its 69°F with some dwarf hairgrass and java moss in it.

Dang, I've been researching for the first time about this stuff today. I was hoping it would just be Detritus Worms. This sucks :(

Planaria normally live in the substrate and are harmless unless you are breeding fish, then they eat the fish eggs.

If you have lots of planaria crawling over the glass, then there is something wrong with the water and you should do a 75% water change and gravel clean the substrate each day for a week. You should also clean the filter if it hasn't been done in the last 2 weeks.
Make sure any new water is free of chlorine/ chloramine before it is added to the tank.

Reduce feeding, especially if using dry food and remove uneaten food asap.

Planaria are harmful to shrimp, Genchem No Planaria is shrimp safe.

Warning

Genchem No planaria is not snail safe it will kill Mystery Rams horn Nerite Pond Bladder and Malaysian Trumpet snails.

I have never seen a shrimp get attacked by planaria. The worms will eat dead shrimp but so will everything else.
