Hi...

I was just reading about some of the larger Catfish and they all seem to be fed once a week when full grown...such as the leiarius pictus...Now i know that my pictus wont get anywhere near that size but was wondering if daily feeding was a bad thing...right now im feeding them once a day....But should i cut that down a little...say maybe 3-4 times a week?

Thnx for the help :D

It is best to only feed pimeloid catfishes once or twice a week, with each feeding give enough food to make each fishes belly look like it has swallowed a marble, then do not feed again until the fishes stomach has returned to normal, usually 3 to 4 days.

Great.....i have noticed the big bellys....i was just worried because i read on a site...and i quote "If pictus cats aren't fed properly they will try and eat smaller fish". But i guess if they have big bellys than there happy...

Once again thnk you CFC :D

yeah mine were kept in a tank with other fish that where feed everynight but the pictus would only come out when they were hungry hence the fat belly and mine loved eating high protein catfish pellets :p
