SO FEED IN MORNING AND AT NIGHT??

Also remember that fish are opportunist feeders and will eat whenever you feed them! But twice a day is great, try mixing up the diet as well, flake in the morning and bloodworm at night?
Good luck with the new fish buddy! :)
have only got flakes just now, will have to get bloodworm, wont be for a few days can they survive 3 days on flakes twice daily?

well feed them they did go mental for the food once they noticed it but wouldnt say they had more than a couple of flakes each

I wouldn't feed bloodworm everyday.

i dont feed newly added fish the day they are added...i feed them the next day. (ie i feed the other fish first in the tank they are to be added too-If not Qtd)

I only feed once a day too. Their stomachs are as big as their eye. So dont need alot.

oh right feed them already :( will i feed once daily and alternate between flakes and bloodworm?

Different people have different ways of feeding; you have to find a way that suits you and your fish. some people feed once a day, some twice and a few people only feed every other day!

The most important points to remember are these;

1; fish don't need much food, but they also, unlike mammals, have no mechanism to tell them they're full, so if you keeping adding food, they'll carry on eating. The excess food will be excreted without being digested, leading to poor water quality.

2; a fish's stomach is only the size of it's eye, as Hayz has mentioned, so they only need that amount at feeding time. There should never be any food left on the gravel or sand after a few minutes have passed; it should all have been eaten, unless you have catfish or shrimps in your tank, which generally are slower feeders and need the food to be left for longer.

3; a good standard flake food should be your fish's basic diet. Once or twice a week (no more) give them some live or frozen food (like bloodworm or brine shrimp) or some lightly cooked vegetables, chopped small (like peas or courgette). It's good for the fish to have variety, but you don't want to feed those foods every day.

Hope that clears things up a bit for you :)
