Hi,
I have approx 24 litre tank with 2 platys, 2 guppies, 4 cardinal tetras, one bristle-nose catfish and a little baby fry.

They get fed flake twice a day, some days a cube of bloodworms instead of.

However they always look hungry.

Even when there was one platy she always wanted to eat, as we introduced the other fish, we upped the food but they always seem to be looking for more. I am happy to give it to them but I am worried about over feeding them.

How much should they be getting?

All the food must be eaten with in 1-2 mins, this should be done twice a day.
Any more than this and food will be wasted and just pollute the water.

Thanks

Can I over-feed them though? Like if i feed them, and they still eat it, are they eating because they are hungry or because it is there? Will they stop eating if they have had enough?

fish will stop after 5-6 mins usually but you could easily feed then 5-6 times a day and they will eat the lot but it's far to much, the fish will produce extra ammonia and suffer from getting fat from the extra food.

So avoid over feeding where possible.
