How do I ensure my corydoras are getting enough nutrients in a tank-full of voracious guppies?

I'd been feeding flake food to the guppies and didn't feel that the corydoras were getting enough as the guppies were eating a ton, then constantly grazing. The cory's seem to eat so slow with their tiny mouths. So I bought some cory specific sinking wafers, but the guppies caught wind of it and push them out of the way. The corys are so polite and shy they don't compete. However, they are constantly grazing in the substrate, is it possible they are getting enough? How would I know.

For these situations the usual suggestion is to feed the Corys sinking wafers after lights out.

i do the above, and also use a distract method. I open both lids, drop flakes in one side and a few shrimp pellets in the other.

Thanks a lot. I'll drop a wafer in at night then.

Are they nocturnal?

Yes, corydoras are nocturnal, and they find food by smell, not sight. Thats why your guppies steal the food. The cories haven't even seen the food by the time the guppies find and eat it!

They also find their food by feel. I watch all the time as they try to find the wiggly black worms. They find one with their barbells, and the little wigglys jump and wiggle away, and the Cory goes back to sifting through the sand with their barbells.

If I put a wiggly in a Betta tank the Betta looks at it, studies it and pouces! Gobbled wiggly!
