I just started with this aquarium business. I set up my aquarium after reading and doing 1-2 days of researching. Gravel, filter, water with dechlorination, etc. Filters set up and running for 4-5 days before I couldn't stand it and bought some fish.

Then I saw this website, and saw fishless cycling. Oh well, too late.

Anyway. Here is my question. I am going to go out of town in a couple of weeks, and will be gone about 5-6 days. I have 3 cichlids in the tank (with 3 different personalities I might add). Can they do ok with no food for nearly a week? Is there a good way to feed them over this week, short of a stranger coming into my house? I don't know my neighbors all that well.

Thanks ahead of time

Thanks, will look for one.

Do you think the fish would croak missing nearly a week of food, given worst case scenario?

i wouldnt risk those machines, i heard they can break easily, but dont take my word for it, i "heard" u can probably get away with bout 3 days but not 7, good luck, tell us what happens! :)
