I'm going away for a week soon, I have two No 8 puffers. They only seem to eat meatty food. So what can I get for while Im away. There in a 2ft tank on there own at the moment (adjusting to brackish water).

My other fish will be ok on one of those 7 day blocks. Well I hope my Ghost knife fish will be ok.

Does anyone have this problem if so what do you do?

Oh i could probably get someone to come in and feed them but only once. ( there a bit of a drive away) And dont trust the neighbours :sly:

Please Help

Well, since they eat meaty foods, your only option is to get someone to feed them. You could always pay your friend to do it. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to feed them if you paid them. :)
Oh, you could always get an automatic feeder and put some freeze-dried bloodworms or something in there. That might work.

With being gone for a week your best option would be to get someone to feed them for you. If this doesn't work you should be able to feed them extra for a few days before you go, so that they look overstuffed. Then put a few snails or even a couple of live muscles (in the shell) into the tank just before going away. They should be Ok for the week. Avoid putting too many snails in before going away as the may just kill the extra ones and let them rot in the tank. For 2 Fig 8's you should be Ok with 4 larger pond snails for the week (I wouldn't try Ramshorn or Apple snails as I have read that their shells were too hard?)
I may spoil my puffers, but when I'm going to be gone for a couple of days I alwars leave a radio on so that they have constant "human" noise and don't start to get shy.

Good luck
