I read that you can feed plecos romain lettuce. Am I supposed to put in a large piece and let them break it up, or put in some smaller pieces. Please give some guidance about how bit the pieces should be. My pleco is about 4" long. Thanks!

I would also suggest trying cucumber and zucchini ours love it - leave the skin on. You just need to fnd a way to weigh it down. Depending on which plec you have depends on the amount but we found that most of our fish like to pick at it so you can put a fair sized chunk in there.

We have given brussell sprouts and apples and all have been quite happily munched and apparently enjoyed.

Be sure to use loose-leaf green lettuce and not iceburg or any of the coloured varieties which contain almost no nutritional value but do contain some metabolic poisons!

Zucchini and brussels sprouts are far better choices.

Oooh, I didn't know that. I only ever have iceberg for the guinea pigs. I'll remember that. Should I be worried about feeding the pigs iceberg? They like crunchy stuff. Would those 'little gem' doo dahs be better for them and the fish?
