How do I ensure it eats any food I put in the tank? It is my only bottom dweller and no food ever seems to make it past the rosy barbs at the top!

Is there anything I can do to make sure my cat eats?

put 1/2 the food on one side, and whilst the barbs are eating that put some more in on the other side for the Featherfin.

Or put some just outside his favourite hiding places.

Or...feed him at night. They are nocturnal, if you get a red night light (red because I'm told they cant see the red light) you will notice he's very active late at night.

I always put food specifically in for mine every 2-3 days, at least 2 hours after the lights go out.

agreed, i feed my synodontis and raphael cats at around 10pm (the lights go out at 8.30) I have also found that if you do this on a regular basis they seem to get used to the routine and will almost be waiting for you to feed them

try big sinking meat pellets for carnivors they go strait to the bottom then soften up for the fish to eat :good:
