I have two small bristlenose plecs..they are coming up to 2 inches now...have just been putting catfish pellets in for them over the last couple of weeks, but only once a day as they were so small when I got them.. they have definately doubled in size over the last couple of weeks and seem to be very healthy...

I've just blanched a bit of courgette and put it into the tank..was thinking of leaving it in overnight to see if they have a nibble... how long would you normally keep this in the tank for? I'm aware that cucumber is also good for them too, might go out and buy some tomorrow ! I've put the courgette on one of those 'screwcumber' things to sink it to the bottom....!

Thanks :good:

I cut a slice of courgette about 3-4" long and stick a plant weight through it and drop it in the evening and theres never anything left by morning. They seem to prefer courgette to cucumber.

i just spotted the other topic lower down on veg feeding which kind of answers my questions too. Oops!

You will find that the vegie wont all be eaten in one night. So in the morning dont think they have not touched it, they will have, but they just suck little bits off.

I feed mine catfish pellets at night. I drop them in then turn off the lights and in the morning its all gone.

I'm a bad girl, I put in a chunk or three (well, I have a few plecs lol) of courgette on a night, and leave it til the next evening. But I'm also a busy lady, got kids to watch, other pets to see to etc. Then again I could technically be pulling it out instead of typing on the forum now...lol.

Shock horror, I leave sweet potato in for two days (only because I read somewhere it can be left for a week - but even I wouldn't go that far!).
