Heya Guys

What would your thoughts be on feeding Marine fish tropical frozen foods such as bloodworm, certain shrimp and other mosquite larvae. Is the main reason that people don't do this simply because it won't contain their nutritional needs or is it dangerous etc. to feed them with tropical mix foods?

Cheers
TIM

My marine fish wont eat bloodworm as ive tried! not sure why ive tried live & frozen.

i know you have to be careful with frozen foods and only get the best quality stuff, there's too many nasties that go into cheap frozen foods so they're risky for marines. our marine's pretty much turn there nose up at flake so there'd be no good feeding them that. they get the gamma improvit stuff most days and then some frozen/live food every third or fourth day :good:

My chromis liked goldfish flakes, I fed them some out of curiosity once but have not given them any since. I tried my fish with a spirulina tab to see if they liked it, They ignored it while it was on the glass but my damsel loved the bits that broke off.

Other than those 2 experiments I only feed frozen prepared foods or fresh raw fish/prawns etc

I haven't tried my freshies with marine mix but they love mysis and brine :good: I usually chuck my goldfish whatever is left after feeding my sun corals and he loves me for it.
