What type of vegtables can you feed clown @ yoyo loaches as tryed peas and cucumber and they dont seem to touch it  The peas I always take of the outershell @ peel the cucumber and cut in half but they just dont seem to like it any ideas please also just watch a clip on youtube and showed some clown eating earthworms, now am I being a bit thick here and are they the ones you get out of your garden  I have had these fish for over a year and half but only now just joined forum to improve knowledge a bit more  cheers any ideas gratefully recieved

Most loaches aren't interested in veggies. If you want to give them some vegetable matter the best is probably algae wafers. As for the earthworm, yes they are like the ones in the garden, but your better off buying them from a pet store or bait shop. Those are farm raised, so you know they are free of pesticides and herbicides. Most fish love them and you can cut them up for smaller fish.

cheers for your response, going to different shop out of town as they dont seem to sell live bait here

I feed my shoal of 5 clowns and 3 zebras quite a few different veggies. I use a screwcumber as they all like to dive on the grub at the bottom after Gump, my bn pleco has rasped himself full. They tend to go nuts over corguette cut in half, but also are mad about the seeds and inner part of cucumber. They actually burrow a hole through it. And yeah, algae wafers are great. If I hold it between my fingers in the water I end up with a loach glove and the sound of a machine gun firing.
I also soak cooked prawns in garlic and tie a few to a piece of sewing thread and let them dangle half way down the tank, always great to watch and very remenicient of a group of piranhas. I do this with boiled peas as well and they don't think twice about scoffing them down and are more eager for them than letting them float to the bottom.

Cucumber. I feed mine a slice of cucumber almost every day. Leave the skin on and they will punch a hole in the soft middle bit within five minutes. As the hole gets soft over a few hours they will open it up more until after two days only the rind is left. My BN catfish is also a great fan. You will have to weight it down with something or use a lettuce clamp to hold it to the side of the tank.
