I recently made my nano tank inverts and corals only.

I know that my hermits and snails etc are fine grazing on algae but im concerned what to feed my blood shrimp, i have been hand feeding him dried seaweed for the past few days (only had him 2 days) and while he eats from my hand im not sure if its enough, plus if he doesnt grab hold of it or lets go it floats away. I also have a mithrax crab but he seems content eating hair and bubble algae.

So what would you guys recommend feeding my shrimp, is he ok scavenging off the live rock or do i need to supplement, if so what foods are best, id like something that sinks so he can get it easily.

Thanks, Andy

Introducing a little brine/mysis shrimp once or twice a week would be beneficial to him :good:

Thanks Ski, i have some dried Brine so i will try him on that. Another idea, could i use FW plant weights to weigh the seaweed down?

Depends, what are they made out of...

A lot of people clip algae under the rim of their magnetic algae scrapers to hold it in place against the glass.

Just to agree, I had the sam worries as you and just got some frozen brineshrimp for my fire shrimp the other day and they love it - totally forget about being shy and scoot all over the rocks after it - they're also partial to a flake or two of plaice IME. I gave them a bit too much and one of them was carrying it around with him for half the day!!
