I haven't had a topic in awhile, and this one is rather pointless, but I'm just too giddy right now. My daphnia cultures are just booming and it is the greatest fish related thing in the world. Watching my little albi juvies chase them down is just : B)
my little two week olds are still too small to partake of the daphnia goodness, although they do have some swimming around their tank. They have more of a "aacckk! that jerky monster touched me! It swam right into me, did you see that?!"
My mahachai juvies think I'm the most beautiful, wonderful mommy on the block since I've had enough to give them some too. And there's a LOT of them so that means I must really be rollin' in the daphnia.


Live, free, abundant food makes me happy.

Aww, mine don't go for daphnia, looks like specks of dirt to them Playing around with live brine shrimp is a fun activity though, specially if you have a lot of plants and a very hungry betta...

I enjoy live brine shrimp, too. I've considered actually growing them after I hatch them out. Goodness knows I dump enough down the sink.

The daphnia I have are huge girl, huuuge!

i tryed growing out my bbs, but it failed miserably. i know you have to feed them yeast but not much more than that. do you know how wuv?

I dunno, I thought you were supposed to feed them spirulina powder. But.....I had some, one time, grow in a bucket full of poo water. I did a syphon on a fry tank and apparently sucked up some bbs. It wasn't my main bucket and it sat there for a few days, when I went to dump it it was full of adult brine swimming about. No salt, no aeration...just....poo and water. Which makes me think they can't be too difficult, and maybe worth a shot.

i feed mine live mosquito larve because theyare easy to get hold of just put a bucket of water outside

Its soooo Funny.

I got some Brine Shrimp in the mail today and fed the Fry. They were like you said Acck. then wait we can eat these and they went nuts chasing them and then swimming round with them in their lickle mouths trying to eat them.
They quickly figured out that thrashing around will break them up and make them easier to eat.

92cw, I've been fending off the mosquitos! I've even gone as far as putting fish in my greenwater buckets just to keep the numbers down. We have way too many west nile cases in my town
