Fish Fanatic
I'm sure this has been discussed before. I just wanted to share my story.
I transfered my new clown loach to the main tank after QT. He never seemed interested in food after I moved him, while the others would eat all they could. I went to the lfs to search for some new food. I found San Francisco Bay Brand Seaweed salad. I tore off a small piece and used a rubber band around a rock to hold it in place. It got his attention and he started to eat. The other two loaches got involved and for the first time I heard them clicking. The silver dollars and the red tail shark also enjoy this snack.
The real fun started with the snails. While at the lfs, I noticed a tank overrun with small snails. I told the girl I would give her $.50 if she pulled a rock out and put evry snail on it in the bag of ghost shrimp I was buying. She gave me this strange look and tells me "You don't want these, they will over run your tank." I debated telling her I was going to fed them to my loaches, thinking she may start charging more if she knew they were food. I told her I have a few loaches. She just said ok. When I put them in the tank, I tried to drop them by the picky eater. Just as they hit the bottom, my funny little fish turned into little natural born killers! They were like sharks with blood in the water. I would say within five minutes I had almost a dozen dead snails. They were clicking and flicking their little blades when another loach got to close. Needless to say I had three fat and happy fish sitting in their favorite caves. I had no idea they could be so aggresive! Once again one of my favorite fish impresses and surprises me again.
