Feeding Fish

Can a goldfish that use to live in an aquarium that got fed every day go into a pond that will never get fed or will the goldfish not know what to eat?

Theyve got food in ponds, weed, little insects and stuff like blood worms

I don't feed my Koi or Goldfish because there's a lot of thick algae on the side of the pond they even jump out and get hold of the end of the blanket weed hanging from the fountain.

Mine try to jump on top of the waterfall to get blanket weed

Interesting to watch isn't it, Goldfish don't do it though only the Koi.

Yeah and the carp.....my carp tend to swim backwards every now and then. How big is your biggest fish in your pond ?

Yeh my two mirrors join in, the biggest is about 12-15 inches i'd say.

My biggest is getting to 2ft long and the rest range from 15-4inches.
I used to have sturgeons but I can never see them, I also used to have clams

Ah I do like Sturgeon. My ponds a bit on the small size, on my way to building something bigger but it's gonna take a while. Sound's good, are your Koi Japs?

I voted 'yes', but you really should give your pond fish some food as well; there's not really enough in an average pond for them to be completely self-suffucient for food.

In my waterfall we have 1000's of bugs/ creepy crawlys every day and we have plenty of weed
