can anyone tell me what they mean by feeding fish vegetable components. I have a red tail black shark amongst others.

They mean you need to vary the fish's diet to include food of both animal and vegitable origin.

Algae tablets are taken eagerly by most fish, even ones that are supposed to be carnivores.

A varied diet is a balanced diet.

you can also use real vegetables, such as cucumbers, zucchini, lettuce, and if you have clown loaches......they love bananas!

Some plants are messier than others and heating the vegetables makes them even messier, so some vegetables are better in a tank than others. Just don't use the same vegetable everyday.
