I've been planning on getting floating plants for a while now, I think my lights are too bright for my fish.

This seems like it should be obvious, but I'm wondering how well feeding works with a floating plant like duckweed? Do you just push it all aside and dump the food (flakes) in?

Thanks.

the output of my filter keeps all my duckweed to one end of the tank but the fish can get the food from between the plants.

Mine get fed pellets not flakes though which might be harder for them to spot straight away but they will find it rather than go hungry but even flake will start sinking after a few moments anyway.

I have floating plants in my Cory tank and my Black Neons could find flakes anywhere they go easily. Fortunately, the flakes don't stay at the surface either but will fall below the water after being completely soaked. Should make it easier for your fish to find them.

Stop worrying about this, that and the other. your fish will be able to feed by seperating the duckweed and inserting your flake food. They'll be fine .....honestly.
