for a long time (probably about 6 months) my frogs lived on algae wafers. it wasnt until recently that i got frozen bloodworms which ive read is the preferred diet. my frogs dont go after the worms though for some reason. one time i dropped about 40 thawed bloodworms on one of my thin frogs head and somehow the rest of my fish managed to get to them before him. so if i were to go with bloodworms i'd probably have to handfeed... which is a hassle.

are algae wafers really that bad? all three of my frogs go right for em.

I've had ADF's for a while and you're right, feeding them is a hassle. I'll give them frozen bloodworms about once a week but handfeed them with long tweezers to make sure they get some before the fish. The other thing I've found they'll eat is sinking catfish pellets. I just drop a few near them and they find them eventually. I've never tried them on algae wafers so can't comment on this.

frogs need a high protein diet, so algae wafers aren't good at all

I use some aquatic frog pellets, and frozen blood worms once a week. The fish are all over the pellets too, but he fights his way through and gets plenty.

Hand feeding can be a pain, but when I had frogs I noticed after a couple feedings of chasing them down to feed them, any time I stuck my hand in the tank they'd chase it around trying to get fed, which made it a lot easier.
