Feeding Dp's- Advice On The Best Method

Evening All,


Just after some feeding advice for my 2 tiny DP's. They are in a 190 litre tank with other fish(and have decided to avoid each other)One puffer hides (still have no idea where- only comes out for food) and the other is more sociable and stays at the front of the tank

I have frozen bloodworm and frozen Cichlid Mix- I usually defrost a full BW tab and put this in the tank. BTW have no idea what’s in the Cichlid Mix (my Cichlids do not seem to fussed over it)

Maybe a bit of a stupid question, but how long can you store defrosted BW for?? and how much should I feed my little guys and how frequently?

I have read some of the other posts about over feeding??

Lastly if you can recommend any other food they like (minus snails- hate this so do not want to add this to my tank)

I find feeding live food the best! My DP's LOVE brineshrimp they go nuts chasing them all over the tank!! they also quite like live bloodworm and i pop it in a cone feeder i brought of flea bay from abroad they just suck them out through the holes.I find defrosted bloodworm will last about 2days in a sealed jar in the fridge but you will always tell if its gone off as it will smell rather bad!!

i've found that frozen bloodworm the worms are a bit big for the puffers, live bloodworms are a lot smaller and the puffers go nuts for them, if i keep them in a cool place the live bloodworms will last for three days.

Thanks for your comments all, ended up hand feeding my little guy yesterday. I am surprised at how tame and confident they are. (I have clown loaches in the tank who hide all day but come out at 6 am for food and disappears the minute ur near to the glass)
Maybe puffers are the way forward lol
