I have 4 panda corys. I bought the Tetra Sinking tablets for catfish. I have a 12 gal tank. I break one tablet up into 4 pieces....is this enough for all of them for the day? Some flake food gets to the bottom from the other fish, but I dont know how much. I just dont want to pollute the tank. Thanks

I don;t get it...are you breaking it into four and gving them one of the four pieces or all ofthe four pieces?? and how big are the pandas so far? (IME pandas when newly bought are always tiiiiiny!)

I had a similar concern about my cory, though it is a bronze 2" corydora. He lives in a tank with a Dwarf African frog and two small goldfish. I bought some pellets just for him and try to feed all of the fish before turning the lights off for the night because I heard that cories like to search for food at night. At first I was worried if he was getting enough food because goldfish, as you know, are pretty greedy. But since I started feeding all of them together, but with different foods, everybody seems to be more concerned with their own food. The pellets break apart at the bottom of the tank, and I noticed that cories like to suck debris from around rocks and gravel. So he seems to be eating fine. I am amazed at the things cories can dig up at the bottom of the aquarium. :)

I've had panda cories for just over a year now. Initially, I had same sets of concerns as well but I no longer worry about them anymore. Some food always lands on the substrates, and they always find some food to eat. They don't eat that much to begin with, and they are very good at finding little bits of food that no other fishes find.

I wouldn't worry about them.

Out of curiosity, what type of substrates do you have?

When I had the ugly blue large-grained gravels (didn't know any better when I was getting into this hobby... :D ), feeding them these tablets was a mess. Before they got a chance to completely finish eating them, half of them got trapped into the gravels and if I let it sit for few days, they rot. Very annoying!

Since I switched to pool filter sand, I no longer have this issue...

I always get my corydoras shrimp sinking pellets, they really love it and same as the other fishes!!!
Otherwise from that they are pretty much happy with the leftover flake foods.

The tank with my pandas has sand, and they love it! I had peppered corys in another tank with medium sized gravel, and they all died  Don't know if their deaths can be blamed on the gravel, but they can definitely find the food easier with a sandy bottom.

Sand should be much better than larger gravels...

I still remember - when I gravel vac, I used to get so much junk up the tube just because uneaten food get trapped there... Yuck.
