Hello, I am new to having corydoras and am wondering how to make sure they get the food they need without my platies stealing it all and getting overfed? Any foods or feeding methods you can specifically recommend? I currently have the Hikari sinking wafers, Aqueon bottom feeder tablets and TetraVeggie algae wafers. Thanks in advance for any help/advice you can share with a beginner cory keeper!

I was just about to make a thread asking exactly the same thing!

Im also new to cory's. I was feeding them algae wafers which my Lfs reccomended but they didn't seem to keen. I read that a good food for them is tubifex cubes, these were delivered today and I just fed them their first. They loved it. All six were going for it at once. One thing with these is that they float, I tied a weight from a plant round it first to get it to sink.

Look forward to what others reccomend.

Hi & welcome :)

I feed my cories on sinking granules (Tetra prima) & nutrafin max granules, also defrosted bloodworm, baby brine shrimp, tubifex, daphnia, crushed deshelled peas every so often(helps clear them out :p ) mini sinking algae wafers every few days.

Tip on using dried tubifex squares - they stick nicely to the inside on the tank glass :good:

Same as Harlequins mostly.

I must have the camara ready next time I stick a tubiflex block to the glass - mental is not the word :hyper:

I was looking for my camera today when I gave them one for the first time. Was lovely to see all six of them so keen to feed as up until not I've been giving them algae wafers which they really didn't have much interest in. Today they were clearly loving dinner time.

I noticed my corries seem to be loving the courgette almost as much as my BN
(They have demolished a thick slice since yesterday and it's several times larger than them, I wonder where they could fit it all

What I've done is tie it to one of the suction cups, with a thread stuck through the middle of it to stop it from floating.

Oh well, everyone is dining on bloodworms tomorrow. And I'll see if any of them likes carrots (as long as they don't turn orange
