Feeding Corys...

They love algae wafers and shrimp pellets. I like to drop them in after I've turned out the lights at night, because the other fish love them too, but they get the floating food.

mine only like the bloodworm i give the discus. but they hate flake, they hate algae wafers. so... should i get these try them? and drop them in at 11:00pm so th discus wont eat them :p

They dont like shrimp pellets? Maybe try some different shrimp pellets. I have 2 types and they seem to favor onw more then the other but still eat both.

tetra tabimin, algea wafers, pellets, tetra prima, bloodworms, brineshrimp and flakes that fall to the bottom.
i rarely see them eat, but they must be as the foods dissapering and the cories are still alive.

Mine love Nutrafin Max Sinking complete food tablet but like 'theotheragentm' - my other fish love them too so i pop them injust after lights out so the corys get them all!

Haha know what you mean about rarely seeing them eating, mine are exactly the same! They do go for the algea wafers, but the BN has usually marked this as his, but they do get a share of it. They love bloodworms too, go absolutely nuts for these, but they often cant fit them into their tiny mouths whole!

Are corys that active at night? Mine seem to be active during most of the day. Whenever I check on the tank after lights out the only occupants still up is usually the BN, the corys are sound 'asleep', and will only move about if they get a glance of me really close to the tank, when they wake up startled. I've never really considered feeding them at lights off.

mine tend to be quiet in the morning and early afternoon and then more active during the evening and then after lights out for a while. They have only bean in the tank about a month though so are still settling in a bit.

ok, i think im going to get some tabimin. but ike someone said i dont see them eating but there healthy and still alive s they must be eating somthing!!

Do you have moonlighting in the tank - its good for some cory watching!

My four (2 bronze 2 albino) adore Hikari Sinking Wafers (not the algae ones) - they're specially for catfish, the packet says its designed for their downward mouths and their nutrition needs. As soon as I drop it in there all four are climbing all over each other to try and get some. The four usually devour one in about an hour - which is the time the packet says to leave it in for (but there's never much left for me to remove! :p) The other fish occasionally push their way in to try and get some but my cories mostly manage to keep it to themselves. :good: They also eat the flakes that manage to make it to the bottom. They're always foraging! I try to drop it in a corner so it can stay jammed in there for a bit, otherwise they're pushing the thing around all over the tank and sometimes it gets stuck under an ornament - I usually rescue it for them when I notice them trying to squeeze under there.

I've been experimenting with lots of different types of food to see what my fish like best.

mine love pretty much everything I offer them, including tabimin, but they go nuts for tetra prima and bloodworms.
