Not stupid at all. Most larger soft corals like finger leathers, toadstool leathers, nepthia, etc have soft bodies dotted with little polyps. These polyps will strain minute particles out of the water if they can but will not eat full-size frozen foods such as brine or mysis. They may eat phytoplankton, rotifers, and/or cyclopeeze if fed such foods. The good news is that soft corals can be almost completly photosynthetic and supplimental feedings are rarely if ever required for softies. Some claim their softies flourish more when fed, but there is no data to support that, only subjective "feelings" of aquarists. I would not reccomend micro foods for a finger leather at this time, cause you're more likely to foul up your chemistry than help out the coral since your tank is new and you are new at marine keeping

. Let your lights keep it healthy.
Some polyp-based soft corals like zooanthids and palythoas have mouths at the center of their heads. Again, usually these are photosynthetic, but feedings will assist their growth for sure. Most zoos/palys can accept blended mysis/brine/krill.
And if I could make a quick request. At the risk of sounding like the forum police, is there any way you could shorten your sig up? Makes it kinda hard to read posts as long as you have it currently. Why not post your tank stats in the members tank thread atop the marine and reef chit chat section, in a journal thread, or in your profile and link to it in your sig
