heyy,

I recently got a young BN pleco and was wondering what they eat. She has eaten most of the algae and there is not much more she can eat until it regrows. So what can i feed my catfish with?

thanks in advanced

you can buy specific pleco 'wafers' that sink. They also enjoy lots of different fruit and veg. Mine is given brocoilli (boiled first), cucumber, mango, apple, carrot (boiled), mini corn.......he's eaten it all.

thanks, i tried cucumber before because the person at the fish shop said to try it but it floats. how do i keep it on the ground? ( i dont want to stuff my tank up by putting something in it that pollutes it )

you can buy little plastic feeding clips that sink and hold the food.

I would not recommend cucumber as a general food though......there is very little nutrition in it Most other fruit and veg is much better in terms of nutritional content. Try and vary what you offer as well.....you dont want to offer the same each time, and do supplement it with a good quality wafer.
