I feed my little guy thawed out frozen bloodworms, daphinia, tubifex and krill and also somtimes the freezedried versions of them per week scheduel as i like to keep his diet varied- he's the first betta i have had in 6months but i used to keep bettas long before that, when i bought him he had septicemia and i havn't had him long but he is a making a very fast recovery on the diet i am giving him :) .

I prefer frozen and live foods. But when time is a stickler- good ol' pellets suffice just as well.
I feed them (all Hikari brand on frozen foods) :
Mysis shrimp (frozen)
Bloodworms (frozen)
Brine (frozen)
Formula 2 (frozen)
Live white worms
live grindals
live springtails
and Hikari pellets

I've dabbled with daphnia a couple times but I have no luck with them :X Right now I have a sweet green tank out back just waiting to try again. I need to clear the dozens of prawn out first. From what I hear it is the best food.

Just offer as much variety as possible. They'll appreciate it and it will show in their health.

Hello,

I feed a couple freeze-dried bloodworms in the morning, and up to 5 live blood worms at night. Every once in a while I throw in 1-2 small flakes of BettaMin just to make sure they're getting all their nutrients. When I can get my hands on them, I prefer to feed the Hikari brand betta pellets over the flakes.
