I have 3 Assassins

They have just about exhausted their food supply. They’ve done a great job.

Problem I have now is what to feed them

Any suggestions?

Too bad you’re so far away. I discard pest snails everyday. Hate them! I guess you could google and see what they can be fed. Has to be something

They'll eat leftover fish food or even algae. They actually prefer leftover fish food to eating other snails. But algae is a last resort for them.

I picked up some frozen bloodworms. I heard somewhere someone had success with that. Not sure what that may do to the condition of the water though.

I asked the lady at the pet store and she said she would give me all kinds of pest snails. That’s not really what I wanted to do.

I got the Assassin’s to get rid of pests

On a quick search they will eat sinking protein rich sinking pellets. If you feed your fish flakes these snails also seem to feed on leftovers the fish don't get. As a last resort they WILL eat algae but they are mostly carnivorous and need protein. Blood worms they will eat but they prefer other stuff.

Here is an article that may give you some insights.

Hikari Algae Wafers.

All snails are scavengers, they don't need specific foods to survive

In an established aquarium, they'll find what they need to survive

And, any fish food will do

Think about it. Can a predator that moves as slowly as a snail really afford to be picky about what it eats?

Save the bloodworms for an occasional treat for your fish.

Have you seen one of these guys move when it gets a scent of a delicious snail in the tank? They are by no means no slow, lol.

Well, assassins eat other snails and those other snails obviously move more slowly than the assassins.

Everything is relative............
