Hi everyone!

Was just wondering if anyone can offer an help or advice to me!

when feeding my fish I want to alternate between foods to give my fish variety, I have flakes and also have these pictured below:

I have them in bloodworm, daphnia and brineshrimp (they are also frozen)

How often should I feed them these and how much should I alternate between the foods I have???

I've also been using brocolli which my red tailed shark loves

Thanks

One day bloodworms, then the next brimestrimp, i feed mine frozen foods once aday.

You can go with a regular rotation to give them a variety but I wouldn't give them bloodworms more than once a week. Bloodworms are very high in protein and therefore hard to digest. If they eat too many, it can lead to constipation (similar symptoms to swim bladder). Brine shrimp on the other hand are low in nutrients and contain very little food value but the fish do love them.

Hi..brine shrimp now come enriched and if you can find them, they're cool. My tank gets fed once a day. I rotate between flake, dried blood worms, enriched brine and live. I only feed frozen 2 times a week. IMO, helps reduce phosphates and nutrients added into the tank. I just drop the frozen cube in and watch fhe feeding frenzy. There is no hard and fast rules. Try out what seems to work best for your fish and go with it. The key is always don't overfeed and keep up with weekly water changes. Have fun. SH

Thanks for all the advice!

In my tank I have:

1 x Red tailed shark
2 x dwarf gourami
1 x plec (not sure of the different types :( )
5 x Neon Tetras
6 x scissor tail ??? they're about the same size as my neons

But im just unsure what to feed them! do i defrost the cube or just drop them in frozen??? Also. no ones mentioned the daphnia, any ideas???

Thanks :)

Daphnia is good for fish it helps them digest there food, but my fish don't care for it much, so i give it them twice a week as there first meal when they are hungry.

so do I just drop in the frozen cube or let it defrost first??
I just let them melt for 5-10 minutes. With that few fish, you should probably be cutting those cubes in half or quarters.

Also, you might consider some type of sinking algae wafer for the plec and RTBS. They'll appreciate it.

I'd go with high quality tropical flake and algae wafer daily, with a treat (frozen bloodworm, etc.) once or twice a week.

Cheers for the advice! I thought the cubes would be a bit too big so I have been cutting them in half, the fish loved the bloodworm! I'll going to buy some of the sinking food online right now :) thanks
