Now that all of my algae has pretty much been munched all up by my plec I'm going to have to really try and get him interested in other things.

He never pays any attention to algae wafers, struggles to get to them even if he wanted to though really. So I've decided to try the potato route again. But how can I get him tempted? I put some in an hour ago and he aint budging from his perch on the wood.

if its bogwod hes probably eating that asswell

What type of plec?

Remember they feed mostly at night.

Aye it's bogwood he's chomping on. Thought he may need more than that though.

It's a royal plec (L191) :good:

he will need more, try courgette weighted down with a fork (stainless steel one) remove after 24 hours max.

Ah well didn't take long. I turned the lights off about half an hour ago and I've just come back to check and he's having a real good munch.

May try him with cucumber tomorrow, although I aren't sure he'll be confident enough to compete with the clown loach for it yet. :/

I have been feeding my bristlenose cucumber. Have you tried grape yet?

He seems to have a little nibble but prefers algae wafers. He's had to share with the zebra loaches but is big enough to get hold of it for a while. My loaches are pretty frantic feeders though so i am having the same problem.

Although i am really hoping my hillstream loach doesn't get left out. He's not really competitive.
