Feedin fry

Well much to my delight when i woke up this morning theres now a whole bunch of little con fry swimmin around...i couldnt see the eggs but i knew they were there...now this is my first time with con. fry and i have a few questions...

1. I've read that i can feed them finely crushed flakes...is this just regular fish flakes there talkin about...?...plus what's another good fish for them.?

2. How long should i leave them in there before i can remove them..?...i've read of this whole drivin the mother crazy thing.

I dont know about the flakes.. maybe someone else will, but I think a good thing to feed is live BBS. I hatch my own for my ram fry, they really love em and its a good food for small babies. Even my glowlight and neon tetras eat them. Good luck with the fry! congrats!

you can feed them any flakes crushed really good when they are freeswimming which is about a week after hatching. the mother or father might eat the babies when getting ready to spawn again. if you want the babies out syphon them into a 10 gal. i take mine out as soon as they are free swimming.

When you say Sypon them out Examp ...what do you mean...can i just net them and aclimate them to my breeding net in my 65...whats the best way to move them???

yes they are good parents but if they breed again they will abandon or eat their babies. i would fill the tank you are moving your cons to with halfway up with the same water they were born in. then add the rest in. you can net them but it would take longer. i just take the syphon or gravel vaccum and suck em up. i usually net the parents up though seeing as how they bite

lol np, my female would tickle me while my male had a really good pinch seeing as how he was pushing 5 and a half inches or so
