ive seen some with nice colors at lfs here but unfortunetly they arent kept in the best conditions. i once had one for several months and then thought he needed a friend and got another which killed both of them. anyway if i were to get some to keep as pets what would be the best thing besides a quarantine tank to get them healthy and everything.

Big tank, good filteration, frozen foods and veg.

99% of all pet shop goldfish carry a parasite of some kind so getting salt is a good idea and raising it slowly to .3% is a good idea.

Forgot to say that this isnt a good idea if the fish is less than two inches long.

thats what i was thinking but wasnt sure. the ones available to me are about an inch long. can keep 3 in a 10 gal for about a month or so.

as far as getting them to and keeping in good health the best thing i should is keep the water very clean and feed good healthy nutrishous foods and treat any health issues that might come up right away correct?

also am i correct that these guys grow to about a foot? if so can keep 3 in a 50 gal with a filter rated for up to 100 gal?

oh missed your post black angel: why isnt it a good idea if they are under 2 inches?

They are still babies at that size and the kidneys just cant cope with that much salt in the system.
