feather fin Synodontis

Hi,
just been to the lfs and got a feather fin Synodontis , looked to me like a plec but ne ways thats what they said it was so i got it. dont know much about them to be honest just that they grow to about 16 cm. and that they are peacefull
if ne one as got one onr knows anything about them can you reply and let me know what they are like, also do they eat algea .

They grow to about 20cm actually. They appreciate hiding places, and open areas to swim around in. They are peaceful, however, they will eat very small fish that can fit in their mouths, like smaller tetras, etc.

They are also very shy, and mine still run at the sight of me, even though it has already been with me for more than 3 months. I am not sure if they eat algae, but i have seen mine munching on the aquarium glass, and perhaps they do eat algae. However, their main diet should consist of high protein food stuff, like catfish pellet, etc.

thanks fot that mine seams to have settled in fine, been out swimming and that, hese just been pushed off a algea wafer by a mollie lol will they eat blodworm and such?

Males of this species tend to be shorte but more heavily built than their female counterparts, but they retain that beautiful dorsal fin, females are longer and slimmer and lose the fin. They tend to be nocturnal in nature so if u can create a dim spot or a low level lighting in your tank u will see him more
