for those of u who dont know my feather duster lost its crown a while ago. it has finally started to grow back. i was wondering what would be the best food for it, if it will be the same color as before or if it might change, and about how long it will take for the crown to grow back to its full size again. your help will be appreciated.

The type and size of the food will depend on the species and size with an upward size of 30mm for Bispira volulacornis However most found in the hobby will be Protula spp. As with all of the species they are filter feeders so any 'leftovers' of the right size will be eaten. Phytoplankton can be used for feeding. One thing to try to help with feeding is to make sure the curret through the Radioles (little arm things) is not always going one way. Otherwize this will result in only one half of the Radioles feeding the worm.

Also to consider is that the loss of the crown in some species will result in an 80% reduction in respiration.

thanks to Dr. Gordon Watson of PFK for the info
