I know that most of you won;t think a lot of this, but was a big step for me..! :)

I've just got home and I noticed that one of my plants had come lose from the base and needed sorting before it hurt one of my fish...

I like fish, but I have to admit that I am very squeemish of them....not knowing how else to deal with the plant, I decided that I'd have to put my hand into the tank...I was very scared and kept flinching everytime a fish came near, but I managed it....as I wasn't looking a few of my platties came up and started nibbling at my arm...It didnt feel as horrid as I thought, so I got some blood worm and put it in my hand and they ate out of my hand....WOW...was really nice...I think that I have just got over my squeemishness of fish...!

YEY! :D  :p :fun:

How long you been keeping them AYAFBG?

I lived with a friend who had fish for a while and helped him with those, but it gave me shivers everytime I had to catch them or anything, but only had my fishies for a couple of months...!

am really feeling more attached to them now..! :D

lol, I'm happy for ya. Just make sure you don't get any fish that AREN'T comfy when they bite. For example, my tiger barb gets a huge kick out of trying to take chunks out of my arm when I gravel vaccuum. It's not exactly a comfortable experience - he hurts! haha, wow, I'm just glad I don't have any of those aggro cichlids or something.

Yes, like a convict. I get purple marks from those little buggers. But grats with the fishy experience geeza!

he he he...I'll remember that for when I get m,y barbs! :D

fanks for the encouragement, feel like a real fishy mummy now! :D

it's funny but i get all weird if i have to put my hands in the water because of germs etc.. and fish. because a few years ago i loved my 20 gal tank, but i had two cory in that tank that i loved so much i would feed them out of my hand and everything. i would watch them on hours on ends then one day i came home and found my corys with big lumps in there tummys that exsploded :-( i was so upset and never had fish for a few years later. and i get so grossed out my i see dead fish i can't touch them or look at them or i get nightmares. my husband thinks it funny and wont take them out of the tank til he knows i won't. i love fish but i can't let them get round me, i scream when i have to fix something in my tank, so my husband went out and bought me i fish stick where it can extand it so i can move or put plants (etc) in the tank thank god for that but i found out that it well made me not as much fearful of the fish and the water as much, :D

I was exactly the same as u cassandra, when I went scuba diving I wouldn't lift my ead above the water because of fish that might swim around me..I am proud of myself for being able to do this, but all my friends think I@m wierd and don't undersand...ahh well! ;)

I'm a little squeamish about my fish as well. I think it's b/c I don't know how they will feel if I touch them. And I can't look at dead fish b/c they creep me out. Not that think they are gross, but really creepy looking. I also have found that it's not to bad if they bump me while I am vacuuming. So I understand your excitment!!

i love my fish, not scared of them until they die then i'm creeped out, a bad child hood experiece, won't go near the tank. then one day one of the plecos died, i was totally grossed out but no one was home and i had heared that dead fish could make my other fish sick, i got the net, got my courage up and took it out of the tank, yuck, and dump into the garbage, hardest thing i ever did, don't know if i could do it again. hopefully the next time one dies my husband will be home.
so don't feel bad there are many of us out there, some i don't think want to admit it.
