Well the weather was really crappy earlier today. But I decided to go wander in the woods and take pictures of things since I had rained. Was really focused on some cardinals when a deer I didn't notice snorted and took off. Didn't really pay any mind too it, but then I saw this fawn sneaking for cover. I gave it a minuet to find somewhere to hide before I went and played hide and seek with it . It always amazes me how good these things are at hiding. It went out of my sight, but I still had its location narrowed down to pretty small area 75x100 ft or so. Took me 10 minuets and 3 passes before I found it. It was pretty young. I would say a somewhere under 2 weeks. It was about the same size as my kitty when he curls up in a ball.

Lovely photos - not sure you can have a wild animal as a POTM nomination though, sure Ludwig will let us know, if we can, I will second

These are quite remarkable photos and a very good subject to photograph, but refering to rule number 1 in the "qualifying pictures" which states that the photographer must have some form of association with the animal, unfortunately this fawn does not qualify for the POTM on those grounds...

Qualifying Pictures.

In order for the picture to qualify for nomination, the following rules will apply:

1) The picture may be of any animal, which the poster has some form of association with and may include pictures of family, friends and associates.

Oh. I was just wondering because i nominated your little garden friend for POTM? mind you i think you count him as a pet don't you? Maybe you should bond with it then i can nominate it :shifty: :shifty:
