Hello Guys,
My Oscar (The General) has grown a huge growth inside of her lip.
It doesn't seem to affect her - other than the adaptation to eating. Shes been growing it for about a year now. I've been scouring websites and calling vets ever since it started growing, to no avail. Please take a look. This is NOT the typical growth that happens on the outside of the lip. If you know what it is, please let me know. If you know of a way to treat or cure it... EVEN Better!!
Thanks!!

Looks like lymphocystis which is basically a wart. There's no treatment but it should pass on its own.

I so wish!! But like I said, Its been almost a year, and in the last 2 weeks, its gotten bigger. It fully extends all the way across her mouth, to which now she cannot close her mouth at all. I've added 1 25% water change per week, just to avoid it becoming septic. But thanks for your response!! :)

It's not Lymphocystis.

If it has been growing for over a year and is getting bigger, it's a tumour. There's no cure unless you want to see if a vet can cut it out. But the fish usually dies during the procedure.

Offer smaller pieces of soft food (prawn and fish) so it's easier for the fish to swallow them.

When the fish can't eat properly or has trouble swimming, euthanise it.

I really recommended you to see the vet, in my country we have a very good vet that remove the goldfish tumour with out fish dying. Hope you goodluck.

Thanks for your advice, I've been trying to find a vet anywhere near me, unfortunately, none seem to deal with fish. :( I'll keep looking, because I don't want to lose her if I can help it.

I know for a fact @Deanasue has preformed “surgery” on her fish before, maybe she can help. I hope your fish gets better man.

You can't remove a huge tumour in a fish's mouth without leaving a huge hole in the bottom jaw and that will make it harder for the fish to eat and breath.
